Hello from a world gone mad Where everything's over the top I guess it wouldn't be so bad Except the thoughts won't ever stop They pile up like cars on the highway Spewing smoke into the air Getting in each others' way Distracted drivers do not care A moment of silence please For the ones that have gone As soon as the last one shut up Another one came along Hello from a world gone mad Where everything's over the top Once I realized I was glad And every form was just a prop They fell around like flower petals Opened to a brand new day Turned transparent like diamonds Sparkled as they flew away Another quiet moment now Of stillness and peace and joy I looked into a reflection And awoke the real McCoy.
A place for Mark Burton's thoughts, poems, songs, sketches, and what, how, and why-nots.
